The Publication and Publishing Department is a structural subdivision of the National Archives of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In its operations, the Department is guided by current legislation, the Charter of the National Archives of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the orders and directives of the Director. It carries out its activities in accordance with an annual work plan approved by the Director.
The main responsibilities of the Department include:
- Website & Digital Presence: Managing the official website of the National Archives, as well as preparing informational content regarding Archives events, newly published collections, and the Kazakhstan Archives journal for the website and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram).
- Publishing and Media: Managing the publishing activities of the National Archives and facilitating the publication of documents from the National Archival Fund in the mass media.
- Journal Production: Preparing, publishing, and distributing the informational and scientific-practical journal Kazakhstan Archives. This includes collaborating with archival institutions across Kazakhstan and CIS countries, as well as scientists and researchers, to source materials for publication.
- Archival Collections: Compiling and publishing collections of archival documents, booklets, calendars of memorable and significant dates, newsletters, reference books on the Archives’ holdings, and materials from scientific and practical conferences held at the National Archives.
- Event Management: Participating in the organization and hosting of conferences, archival exhibitions, seminars, and roundtables.
- Methodological Development: Studying and implementing the best domestic and international practices in the field of document publication.
