Training Center for Archive Personnel

On December 21, 2021, the National Archives of the Republic of Kazakhstan opened the Advanced Training Center for Employees of State and Institutional Archives.

The courses are conducted in accordance with an approved schedule. Since the Center’s opening, around 1,000 archival workers have enhanced their professional qualifications.

Training Program

During the course, lectures are delivered on the following key topics:

  • “Development of Archival Affairs: Challenges and Prospects”
  • “Organization of Document Management in Institutions”
  • “Rules for the Acceptance (Transfer) of Documents for State Storage”
  • “Ensuring the Preservation of Documents” (including a tour of the archival repository)
  • “Regulatory Framework in the Field of Archival Affairs”
  • “Public Services Rendered in the Field of Archival Affairs”

Practical Part: To reinforce the material covered in lectures, business simulation games are organized, and an educational video demonstrating the main aspects of archival work is shown.

Feedback and Outcomes

Participants highly praise the quality of the courses, noting that they acquired a wealth of new professional knowledge in the field of archival science and records management during the training.

Upon completion of the course, participants are awarded certificates. The unique feature of this certificate is that it is issued jointly by the authorized body in the field of archives and documentation and the National Archives.
